Epsom Salt Recipes

What woman doesn’t like to take baths? I do not need to tell you how wonderful baths are, but I can share with you ways to make them even better. Here are a few recipes for using Epsom salt during your bath time. If you are not aware of the many health benefits Epsom salt provides, you can find information here.

Bath Salts

2 cups Epsom salt

1/2 cup baking soda (see properties below)

8 drops lavender essential oil

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight jar. When ready to use, add to warm running water. In the case that the salts does not dissolve before you get into the tub, be careful not to sit on it-ouch!

*This recipe is simple to make and can be varied according to your mood. Just replace the essential oil to suit you. You can also add 2-3 different kinds of essential oil together for a unique blend of frangrace. For a list of what fragrances work well together and when to use them (based on your mood), visit this great website. This site also offers a noteworthy section on which oils to avoid if you have specific health conditions.

**Baking soda serves a host of ailments. It is used to neautralize oils and prespiration form the skin. It also helps in soothing skin rashes and it aids in draining the lymphatic system of toxins and illness. All of this from a white powder!
