When is it time to quit?

Often times it’s too easy to accept a job, various tasks or “favors” because we are in need of the extra money or we simply want to help others out. Many times it is doable until we get too overwhelmed by the amount of effort and time it takes from ourselves or our family. My thoughts on this matter stem from the fact that I have taken a job that seemed good on paper, but in reality has become a thorn in my side. I am lucky that I have such a caring and loving husband; he sent me this article that I have found insightful as I contemplate the idea of should I stay in a job that I hate and that consumes me all the time? Or, should I stay and finish out my time there for the extra pay and for the sake of not inconveniencing someone else? Once a tough choice, now made easier…

Disclaimer: Even though this article is extremely insightful, I do feel that seeking God for the answer and being led by his plan for your life is what ultimately should be done.

Meetup.com

Since moving to New England two years ago, I have found it rather difficult to make a connection with people that would last. As a homegrown Southern girl, I enjoy saying “hi” to people I pass on the street and feel the need for social interaction in a relaxing atmosphere. In order to satisfy my need, I turned to a free online service called meetup.com. This website allows a person to search for specific groups of interest in his/her own city or town. I recently joined a knitting group right in my own town and a fitness group. I am really excited to meet some locals and share some common interests.
