When making crafts with kids, more often the dining room table is used for the amount of workable space it provides. An inexpensive idea for protecting that space from the elements of art is to cover the area first with a vinyl tablecloth. These can be purchased at your local grocery store, craft store and even the dollar store. Make sure to buy one that fits your table appropriately so that all areas of the table surface are covered. Your kids can then use “real” markers, paint, glitter glue, and all things messy without having to worry about ruining mommy’s table. The best part is that these tablecloths will catch any spills without it seeping into what is underneath AND they can be wiped clean for reuse.
