Aside from the Bible, there are many good reads available for Christians. I have found that many of these books are an inspiration and can lift you up when times are tough. I have also found that this particular genre is very hard to find in a public library. Go figure. That is a major downfall for me, because I do try to make use of my public library as often as I can (which happens to be at least once a week!).

This book has some good tips on how to incorporate healthy choices into your life in order to make a lifestyle change. That is, of course, how one becomes healthy successfully!  I do sometimes question some of the things Joyce has to say about what God “thinks” and about what constitutes living a Christian life. She seems a little liberal/motivational speakerish at times.

I love John Hagee! I watch him preach on the DayStar channel whenever I can. I love how knowledgable he is about the Bible and how down right blunt he is when it comes to teaching how we should all live God’s word.

I was reading my Bible last night in 1 Samuel. As I read the story of Hannah and how much she longed for a child of her own, I could relate and my heart ached for her. What is inspiring about Hannah is her obedience to the Lord. She prayed diligently for a son and it was through her trusting in the Lord that she received one. There is much to be learned from Hannah’s story. In the second chapter of 1 Samuel, we are given the first account of a woman’s prayer in the Old Testament. So take notice-it must be important! Children are a gift from God. Parenting can be one of the most rewarding and most difficult experiences in life. Just as Hannah, we can give our children back to God by raising them up in Christ. Pray for your children, forgive your children (they are learning!), and love your children unconditionally. Through obedience, you can teach your children about God’s faithfulness!
